ASC Route

A complete computerised route management system for the small to medium sized business involved in any kind of logistics or distribution.

ASC Route is comprised of 3 main parts:- the central server software, the hand held software, and the communications software.

The central server software resides on a PC or server and is used to manage all the distribution system data. It can import from and export to a host system (e.g. corporate accounts package or ERP system) and the hand helds via flat file import and export facilities.

The hand held software runs on various platforms but the most common is the Psion Workabout rugged hand held computer. It allows the delivery driver to record all deliveries, generating on the spot invoices or delivery notes as required. At the end of each day/shift/period, the data in the hand held is uploaded to the central PC under the control of the communications software.

The communications software normally runs in the background on the server PC, handling the communication both ways between the hand helds and the PC. Sophisticated automated control of the communications process allows the administrator to control exactly what data goes to and from each hand held unit.
